I did it!

I started running again last night. One of my friends who ran the mini marathon with me called and asked me to run with her. What better way to start! I didn't know how well I would do, but thanks to her we ran/walked 5 miles! I couldn't believe it! We ran at least half of it, so I am really sore today! I am going to try to keep up with this and run three times a week. It feels good to run! Thanks Bobette!

We went to get Dylan's 3 year old pictures taken today. He was so cute! He made it really hard to pick out which pictures to get because they were all really good! It was so much fun watching him cheese it up with the camera.

Lauren has been extremely fussy lately. I think her top teeth are coming in soon. I can see them through her gums. She woke up last night screaming hysterically and wouldn't calm down. Then when we got home today, she didn't want to go to sleep. She was crying and yelling for about 2 hours! Luckily Ricky was home, so I took her for a drive and she finally went to sleep. I let her sleep in the car and she slept for about an hour. I gave her some oragel tonight, so hopefully she'll sleep better. She is such a little stinker. She closes her mouth really tight when she sees me getting the oragel out. I have to pry her mouth open. I guess she's just smart and doesn't want her gums to go numb.

We went to the mall earlier today. I got some cute clothes for Lauren, some hand soap, and a free pair of underwear! Yipee! I had some coupons that were expiring soon, so I figured I would get use out of them. I think that's about all for today.

Dentist

We have been enjoying the beautiful weather around here. I love the spring! We went to the dentist this morning. Dylan had his first ever visit! He did great and they said that his teeth look great, too! How exciting! He brushes his teeth fairly well, but has a hard time spitting. He's working on it! They also said that he needs to give up his thumb sucking. I wander how hard that is going to be!?!? Guess we'll find out soon! He only sucks his thumb at bedtime with his burp cloth. We'll have to take them away and hope he does ok without them! We'll work on that as soon as we can get him to stay in his bed at night. He thinks he needs everything after we put him in bed. Silly kid! I got a picture of him finishing his doughnut the other day. He was being silly, but cute. I need to get a cute hat for Lauren. I grabbed one of Dylan's old ones to cover her eyes and it was way too big! Very cute for a picture, though!

My big boy Dylan

Dylan had his 3 year check up today. He is doing great. He is still in the 75th percentile for both height and weight. He weighed 34 pounds and was 3 feet 2.9 inches. He sure is growing up! He kept telling me this morning that he didn't want to go to the doctors. I didn't think kids got scared of going to the doctor until they got older. Oh well! He did great, so we went to the store and he picked out a special treat. He wanted donuts. He loves to get donuts. Lauren did great until she hit her mouth on the cart. Then she was not happy! Good thing we were only getting a few things! I think we are pretty much back to our normal schedule. (Whatever normal is!) The kids have runny noses again, but nothing serious.
Lauren woke up last night and would not go back to sleep! That is very unusual for her! She normally sleeps longer than Dylan! I think her teeth might be bothering her. The joys of teething!

Cousins

Last week we got to spend a ton of time with my sister-in-law Melissa and her kids. Dylan loved spending time with his cousins. He would wake up from his nap and say, "Can I go play with Noah, Lily and Ashlyn?" How fun! He had a blast. Thanks for the great time! I enjoyed spending time with Melissa, too. Here are some cute pictures of the kiddos. Dylan actually went 4 days in a row without a nap. Maybe that's why it took me so long to get these posted!?!?
Noah, Lily and Dylan watching a movie at Grandma and Grandpa Tate's house. They had a blast playing outside.Dylan loves his Grandpa Tate! You know that something is up when all the grandkids are playing in the bathroom and laughing. They were spitting in the toilet until we got there and then they started splashing. Thanks to Noah for not flushing after he used it. Thank goodness for bathtubs!

Party time!

And yet another week goes by without blogging! How in the world does that happen? Maybe it's the two kids that do it to me. Maybe it's just me not knowing how to manage my time. Maybe it's a combination of both with everything else thrown in there! Who knows! I used to be so good at this. Maybe I will get better at it soon! (Keep your fingers crossed!)

Last weekend we celebrated Dylan's birthday with family. Friday, we had friends over for cupcakes and then Saturday we had a cookout with family and close friends. It was really nice to have everyone over here to celebrate with us. Dylan had fun playing with his cousins and best friends. Usually for parties I get stressed out easily, but this time was relaxing and fun! Thanks everyone! Dylan got a fishing pole, cars, a race track, some cool clothes, puzzles, and more! We are looking forward to going fishing soon! Maybe it will be nice enough next week to do it!
Dylan with his friends from playgroup and cousins from Missouri.Dylan and cousin Lily. You gotta have the chocolate fountain out for birthdays! The kids loved the tissue paper more than the presents!
Story time... The entertainment of the day! Thanks Wendy!
Birthdays are great!
Look at how cute we are! Where's Lauren? She slept through the entire party!
Eating the frosting off the Diego character!
There's the sleepyhead! Grandpa couldn't let her sleep any longer!

We ventured over to the mall today. I got some good deals on clothes for Lauren. Dresses and pants for $5 each! Plus I had a coupon for $10 off! Great deal! I got 3 pairs of pants and 2 dresses for $15 total! I love getting good deals! I just checked online to see if I could get anymore dresses, and they are $15 each (On sale!). By the time we finished, Dylan was spent. He started wandering off and not listening to me. Thank goodness for nap time! I went to the mall looking for a good diaper bag, but didn't have any luck. Maybe next time! Anyone want to go???

Happy Birthday Dylan!

I can't believe my little boy is 3! Time sure does fly by!Dylan had a wonderful birthday filled with surprises and friends! What more could a 3 year old ask for? Ricky says he's spoiled, but I think it's just letting him enjoy being a kid. After sleeping in and relaxing, Ricky made pancakes for breakfast. It worked out really well because Ricky had the day off of work, too! Dylan got to play with his new workbench that he got from us. Then, we went to the Children's museum in Indy for the day. Dylan had a blast! There was so much for him to do! We finally left the museum at about 5 and Dylan was exhausted! He fell asleep on the way home and got just enough energy for Chuck 'E Cheese. We invited his friend Cameron to join us and then it worked out that Noah and Lily (his cousins) could come too! Ricky, Me and 5 kids at Chuck 'E Cheese was lots of fun! The kids did great and loved playing all the games! We finally made it home about 9:30 and had to let Dylan open his other presents. He got a computer game that had PBS characters on it, Geotrax trains, and some cars. He loves cars right now. That was all he wanted for his birthday. Yes, he's all boy! He goes to the doctor next week for his check up, so I'll let you know the stats soon! Happy Birthday Dylan!

I had to throw in a cute picture of my little sweetie! Look at those teeth! Maybe he'll be an anchor man when he grows up!
Although, he really loves animals!
Lauren had a blast, can't you tell??

He loves playing in the water!
Lego Land was really fun! He's the king of the castle! She actually did have fun, she just didn't like the little play area for infants!
The car ride home! Need I say more? Dylan and Cameron on the ride that kept them occupied for 20 minutes!

I guess I really had 6 kids! They had a blast!
Hope you had a wonderful birthday! We love you!

Busy times call for good pictures

I am having a great day today, which is good since yesterday was a little stressful. (Can you tell why?)

We have been keeping busy around here. Lauren is sitting up very well by herself and Dylan will be 3 tomorrow. It's crazy how fast time flies by! Dylan doesn't want to take naps anymore, but he's really tired if he doesn't! I guess I use his naps more for my sanity than his! We had a fun day with the camera last week. I got a little carried away and took a ton of pictures! Oh well! I love my digital camera!
Dylan has said some funny things recently. On Saturday, we were driving home in the rain and he said, "Mommy, I don't want to go to the car wash today!" He got scared the other day at the car wash and the rain was really coming down hard. Too funny! Then at dinner, he said, "I am growing bigger and you are growing smaller." I don't know if he knew he was giving me a compliment or not, but I'll take it! Thanks Dylan! I started doing aerobics at church in the mornings last week. She stops for drink breaks, and I had to get a drink. Dylan followed me in the hallway yelling, "Mommy, I don't want you to dance anymore!" I couldn't help but laugh! I know he's said other things, but I can't remember them all right now. I love this age!

We also went outside lots with the nice weather! Dylan played with his sand table for over an hour! He loved it! Lauren and I went outside and sat on a blanket. We are really looking forward to getting nice weather back! Today it is 25 degrees outside and we don't like it. I never knew why people hated winter until this year! I totally got cabin fever from all the sicknesses we had!

Lauren loves to eat her cereal and baby food. Some how she manages to get her arms over her head like this every time! Silly girl! I think it's cute but not so fun when you are trying to feed her! This is how you learn patience! And I'm done with you taking my pictures!
They started the free spring movies at the theater around here. It's great that they show kids movies for free on Saturday mornings! Dylan LOVES to see movies (especially at the theater!). He takes after daddy with that one! We went and saw 'Space Chimps.' It was really cute and we are looking forward to going again soon! They have some good movies this time!

Another Lazy Sunday

We're having another lazy Sunday around here. It cold and snowy and everyone is sleeping. How nice! Ricky and Lauren are getting over colds, so they are very tired. I thought about taking pictures of the kids sleeping, but I figured it's not worth it if it wakes them up. At least not today! I was debating on weather to make cookies while everyone was sleeping, but I decided to wait and let Dylan help out. He loves to cook with me. Thanks to everyone who commented on my last post. I love to get feedback, even though I very rarely leave comments on other blogs. Thanks anyway. I went to see Confessions of a Shopaholic with some friends last night. It was nice to get out with friends and no kids! The movie was cute. I'm sure Ricky was glad he didn't go with me!Ricky got Guitar Hero for Christmas. Dylan was having a great time playing with daddy. Ricky is looking forward to the day that Dylan can play video games with him.
Lauren was having a blast in her jumperoo. I tried to get a picture of her cute smile, but the straps were in the way. Oh well! She's still cute!Dylan was playing with his friend Jenna the other day. We traded babysitting to see the Mystery Dinner at the church. They were so cute and had a blast together. He gets along really well with her. When we walked into church today, Dylan said rather loud, "There's my friend!" It's so fun to see him grow up!

I've been wanting to paint lately. Probably because one of my friend's just finished her bathrooms and they look amazing. It might also be because we just got our tax refund back and we actually have money again! I love this time of year! We just paid off 2 student loans, too! It feels great to be rid of some of our debts! Anyway, if you have any cute color ideas for a craft room or computer room, let me know. I was thinking about light green walls with black accents. I don't know! I've just been in a fix-it mood lately. I'll let you know what I get done! This week, I fixed Dylan's dresser. The bottom of the drawers were coming out, so I had to glue them back together. I have a few crafty ideas I'm hopefully going to get done soon, too! Too many things to get done in a day!
