Cousins all summer long!

Ricky's sister is visiting from Puerto Rico for 2 months this summer and we are having a blast! We have been hanging out with them a ton! She has a little girl the same age as Dylan, a 9 year old boy and 11 and 13 year old girls, so it's a lot of fun. We are keeping each other busy by shopping, playing video games, hanging out, going swimming, etc. If I don't get to blogging, that's why! My sister-in-law is also visiting for 3 weeks, so we are having cousin overloads around here! We are loving every minute of it! I got the cutest picture of Dylan with his cousin Alex the other day. I couldn't help but share this one! They were having so much fun playing with the cars together. They are such boys!Lauren was being really cute the other day, so I got the camera out and snapped some shots. They were all really cute, so I had to post 3 of them! She is starting to be more mobile. When we put her on her bottom, she will flip over to her belly to crawl. She hasn't actually crawled on her hands and knees, but she will push herself up. This morning she was sitting up in her crib. I guess we'll have to move her mattress down now. She still mainly gets around by scooting on her bum. The second picture is of Lauren cuddling with her blankie and sucking her thumb. It's adorable when she cuddles like this! I did notice the other day that Dylan sucks his right thumb and Lauren sucks her left thumb. I wander if it will have anything to do with which hand they will write with! Only time will tell! The last picture is of Lauren blowing raspberries. She started mimicking us. It's really fun to see the faces she makes while trying to blow! She is going to be a daddy's girl. She welcome daddy home by saying, "hi, da-da!" It is the cutest thing in the world!

I'll try to keep you posted on what we are doing, but we are busy! We are going to have a wonderful summer! Hope you are enjoying your summer, too!

Lauren's first time swimming!

My playgroup friends got together last week and went swimming. It was so much fun, other than Lauren not being sure of the water. She cried for a while, but that's normal when the water is cold. Dylan had a great time and could even touch in the big pool! I couldn't believe it! My little boy is getting so big! He thought that his Lightning McQueen arm bands were really cool! Here are two of Dylan's friends, Mailee and Elsie. They just floated around the pool for a while. It was cute!I got a picture of all three of us! Too bad Lauren wasn't looking. Oh well!
We went swimming twice last week after Lauren's first time. She was a little hesitant at first, but now loves the water. She kicks and loves to splash! I'm so glad that I have two little water babies!

Swim lessons

Dylan started swim lessons this past Monday. He's in the class with his cousin, Tessa. He absolutely LOVES swimming. It is really fun to see him learn new things from his class. They have different animals that they learn to be like in the water. The teacher is really good and I'm so glad that I signed him up. They start the class by kicking water from the side of the pool. Dylan likes this part a lot! Then the kids have to get the top of their head wet. I'm not sure if Dylan actually put his head into the water. Oh well!
Here is Dylan with Tessa. They are too cute! Here they are doing the alligator. This was his favorite animal to do in the pool.
This was the starfish. They had to float on their backs and look up at the sky.
And I couldn't leave Lauren and her cousin Haley out! It has been so hot here. I guess I don't notice how hot it is until we are sitting outside for a half an hour everyday. Lauren has been a trooper. She gets really hot like her daddy and sweats a lot. Luckily the weather is supposed to be better this week. We got a pass for the pool, so we'll have to take advantage of it and go practice Dylan's fun animals.

Bath Time fun!

Do I even need to say anything?

Strawberry Festival

Last Saturday, we met my mom down in Crawfordsville for the Strawberry Festival. It was lots of fun. We got rained on for about 10 minutes, but my mom's friend had a tent set up, so we stayed dry. Dylan had a blast playing the games and running in the bouncy obstacle course. I got to help him, so I got to enjoy it too! They had a whole road blocked off and lined up with tractors. Dylan loved them and picked the green one to pose in front of.
This slide was at the end of the obstacle course. We had a blast!Dylan playing the games!
And we couldn't leave cute little Lauren out! She had a blast playing with Dylan's balloon. Dylan was a good big brother and shared his balloon with her.

Potties and more

Potty training is no fun. I really don't enjoy it at all. It's just confusing. He knows where to go and how to do it by himself, so why won't he do it? Yesterday, I asked him if he had to go and he insisted that he didn't. Not even 2 seconds later he had an accident. Boys are so confusing. I understand when he has accidents as he's trying to get to the bathroom, but this was not an accident. I don't understand it at all! So, here is a picture of how Dylan has been the past 2 weeks at our house. He got some new gloves, and he loves them! They are to help in the garden outside. He likes them so much that he wore them to sleep for his nap the other day! Silly kid!
I got another great deal yesterday. I went to Payless and got all of this for $1.82. The cashier kinda laughed when he gave me the total! I love coupons! My mom was here this weekend and she played the piano with Dylan. He was really good! He picked up on it really quick and played chop-sticks by himself!
Ricky has been coming home for lunches lately. It's been nice to have him home for a little bit, especially if he has to work late. I got this cute shot of him after he got Lauren from her nap. She was copying him and blowing raspberries. It was funny! She started talking a lot! She just jabbers all the time! I think she is getting more teeth in because she keeps chewing on her finger. She started scooting across the floor on her bum and she will army crawl sometimes. She is still pretty lazy. It's been nice not having her be mobile.
