Poor Lauren

Lauren had a rough morning today. We were all happy and playing, when she decided to throw a fit. I was holding her hand to help her walk and she decided to drop to the ground, dead weight. I heard a pop and then realized that she had pulled something out of socket, again. It happened last fall to the same arm. It stinks that it had to happen on a Saturday when we have to take her to the Urgent Care instead of the doctor. I guess if that's the worse thing that happens to us, we are doing pretty good. After the doctor popped it back into place, she was good as new.

36 weeks and counting

So, I made it to 36 weeks! It's really crazy that I'm that far along already! This little boy is going to be here before we know it! I got the nursery painted last week with the help of my mother-in-law! Thanks! Tomorrow we are putting the furniture back in place, so I'll get some pictures soon. (I can't move the bed by myself.) I got all of the baby clothes out to start washing them, too. I am trying to get ready for this little guy! I really can't wait to see him. I wander if he will look anything like Dylan. I went to the doctor yesterday and he said that I'm 75% effaced. Nothing exciting, but progress. He is still really high, so I have a little while to go. Speaking of this little guy, we don't have a name picked out yet. We would love any suggestions! I want something that's not too common, but cute. We are having a real hard time with this. Thanks in advance!
.
Dylan has been full of energy lately. I don't know where this kid gets it from! He just runs and runs (literally) around the house for hours. Then, he won't take a nap and wants to be rough with Lauren. He loves to pick on her and tease her. I guess it's a boy thing. Last week, we took him to Chuck 'E Cheese to get some energy out. He had a blast and crashed on the way home. I just wish I had the energy (and money) to take him everyday to get his energy out! Today, Ricky took him outside for a while on his lunch break. Dylan had a blast and didn't want to come in when Ricky had to leave. He is just my little ball of energy. They tried to make a little snowman, but the snow was too powdery today. It snowed all day and was really pretty. I'm grateful that we live close enough that Ricky can come home for his lunch break.

Lauren is growing up so fast! She has been playing with her dolls all the time. She LOVES shoes and her newest obsession is her hat. I think it's adorable when she walks around with her little pink hat on! She is my little girly-girl. I love it! She is walking all the time now! Yeah! She is still wobbly, but I'm sure that will change with time. She talks all the time! Some of her favorite words are: drink, mom, dad, grandma, Dylan, Lauren, and up. It's so cute when she talks. She still whines to try to get her way. I'm sure that will get better when the baby come, too! We are trying to work on it now. All of her eye teeth are in now, so she has 16 teeth! I can't believe that she is 19 months old! I guess I should do an update on Ricky, too! He's doing great. He tells me he's looking forward to his "vacation" from work. I think he's in for a big surprise when he's home for 2 weeks with us! He'll probably be asking to go back to work! We'll see! He only has 2 weeks left of his class and then it's just work for the rest of the semester. That's about all that's going on around our house.

Happy Valentine's Day!

We had a wonderful day yesterday. I meant to get on here and write about it, but my back was hurting too bad by the end of the night. That's just how it goes when you are pregnant! We started the day off by letting Ricky sleep in. He has been sick with a cold and ear infection, so he really liked it! I went downstairs with the kids to make breakfast. We made red heart shaped pancakes with sausage and a fried egg. I had hoped to take Ricky breakfast in bed, but that didn't seem to work very well with 2 little kids! The kids still seemed to enjoy breakfast! Ricky suprised me with a beautiful bouquet of roses. They smell really good and couldn't have come at a better time! I love them! Thanks baby! (I got him some of his favorite chocolate, Godiva.) Then after church, I tried to get a few pictures of the kids in their cute Valentine's outfits. Too bad they didn't want to cooperate!

Kids will be kids! I thought Lauren looked really cute in her little red dress with hearts on it! Maybe next time!

Super Bowl Party

I was picked to host a Digiorno Pizza House Party, so I thought, what better day than Superbowl Sunday! We had a few friends over and the kids had a blast! We had a really good time and enjoyed the company. Plus, who can pass up on free pizza? Here are a couple of shots I got from the party!

These pictures were from before church. I have been enjoying doing Lauren's long hair. I got it into pig tails, with no tears! Yeah! I think it makes her look so much older, but she is already 19 months old! I'm sure she will look a lot bigger when the baby comes! Dylan didn't want to be left out of the hair doing party, so we spiked his hair, too! I love when he lets me spike his hair! I think it looks so good!

Loving those lazy days

Ricky would probably disagree with the title, but I love lounging around the house with my family all day. (Especially after having a long week of him working an hour away and being gone for 11 hours a day!) The day started off really well with Ricky's class being canceled. He came home and made breakfast for us. Yum! I then thought that a roast sounded good, so I started dinner. The day seems to go more smoothly if dinner is done in the morning. If I didn't have so many morning activities, this might become a reality! I really enjoyed getting a few little things done around the house. I have been wanting to get some pictures hung up in our bedroom, so today was the perfect day. Ricky was great and helped me all day! Thanks baby! We asked Dylan what he thought of the picture and his response was, " I love it mom." He is picking up the funniest things. I think I am also in the nesting mood. I got the nursery/spare room cleaned out so that I can tape it off and paint it soon. I bought the paint last week and am itching to get the room painted. Anyone want a couple of kids for an afternoon so I can paint the nursery?

I can't believe that I'm 33 weeks pregnant. Time has been flying by so quickly! This little bugger is very active and kicks me all the time. Dylan thinks it is neat when he gets the hiccups, which happens almost daily. I think Dylan is getting more used to the fact that we are having a little baby soon. When we talk about it, he says stuff like, "I know." I guess he's just too smart for his own good.

Dylan has had some of the funniest saying lately. Having a conversation with him can be great! He said, "Are you serious?" to me when I was asking him to do something. Silly kid, and yes, I am serious. He really reminds me of Ricky. (I think he might be somewhat of a class-clown later in life!) In church, Dylan graduated to the next class called the Sunbeams. (Our church changes classes in January based on what year you were born.) They had 21 kids going to the Sunbeams class, so they separated them into 3 classes! I know, we have a huge ward! Anyway, Dylan is not so sure about singing time and sharing time. He told me that he wants to go back to nursery. I had to tell him that he doesn't have to like it, but he does have to sit through it. He doesn't want to participate at all! I don't know why, but he just sits in his chair and won't sing. He knows the songs, too! Last Sunday, we were listening to one of the church songs that they were learning (we are still teaching in the primary, so we see him and know the songs, too) on the way to church, and Dylan sang the whole song! I'm glad that he is learning the songs, I just wish he would participate at church! Silly boy!

Lauren's eye teeth are coming in. Poor girl! They seemed to be the worst ones for Dylan, too. She whines all the time. She will just start crying and crawl over to my feet and look up at me. Her look is the "Just pick me up so that I can stop crying" one. She is a very smart girl. She knows how to try to get her way and how to blame things on Dylan. I have to catch myself before getting after Dylan for making her cry. Sometimes she is just crying because she is not getting her way! She is being very stuborn about walking. She will do it if you tell her to, but not by herself. I really hope she will pick it up soon! She's getting really heavy!
