Fun times!

I realized today that I don't have very many pictures of Dylan for this month! I think I go in spurts, some months I take a ton of pictures and some months I don't take many! With Ricky starting school last week, Dylan and I have been staying at home. (Sharing a car can be so much fun!) I am liking staying at home more and more. I think the extra space helps with that! In this first picture, Dylan was saying "cheese" for me. He has the cheesiest smile sometimes! I absolutely love it though! He is turning into such a big boy! He is talking all the time! I have no idea what he is trying to say half of the time, but he is still talking! He started saying 2 word sentances. He can now say: love you, thank you, I stuck, it stuck. He says I stuck if he can't get somewhere he wants to go. It's really cute. He also knows the sounds for lots of animals. I will have to record him soon and try to post it! (I'm not that technical) That's about all that's going on in our lives right now.

Summer fun!

We have had a wonderful summer! After we got home from vacation, Ricky's siter and her four kids came to visit for the month! They live in Puerto Rico, so they came to get away from the heat! (Guess where we are going on vacation next!?!?) It was so fun having them here, especially for the kids. Tessa is only 4 months older than Dylan, so they had a blast! Plus we all went on little day trips to keep busy!
Here are all the grandkids on the Tate side of the family minus Noah (he was in trouble during the picture). We went over to my sister-in-law's house to let the kids play in the sprinkler. They all loved playing together!
Dylan and Tessa giving eachother kisses! They were so adorable!
We went to Fair Oaks Dairy Farm about 45 mins north of Lafayette for the day! I thought it was rather interesting! I had never been there and learned a lot! Dylan loved the cows. MOOOO!
Here is Tessa and Dylan at the dinosaur exhibit in the Children's Museum! The kids had a blast running around! Dylan and Tessa even held out on naps because it was so interesting!

We also went to Tropicanoe Cove, swimming a couple of times, and the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. I love being a stay-at-home mom! Poor Ricky was feeling left out while we were out having fun every day! We sure have saved a lot of money since they have been gone!
Ricky starts school tomorrow! He only has classes on tuesday, wednesday, and thursday, but he still has to work 40 hours a week and do an online class! I am not looking forward to his 7 hour lab on Wednesdays! Only 4 months to go! I am starting my moms group again this week to help keep me busy! I'm really glad we live so close to my friends, since we are sharing a car! I hope everyone has a great week!

Yellowstone

We had an amazing vacation the beginning of July. We started off by flying to Colorado. It was Dylan's first plane ride, and he did great! (Good thing for portable DVD players!)

Sorry about the picture size! I can't get them to work this time. The next two pictures are at the Garden of the Gods in Manitou Springs, CO. It was beautiful there! I would love to live there someday! The first one is of me and Ricky and the second one is of me with my parents!

This is my dad and me at one of the springs.
We went to a Colorado Rockies game while in Colorado. It was Dylan's first baseball game, and he did great! He especially loved the cotton candy! We taught him to put his arm in the air as we said "Go Team!" and he still does it! It is really cute!
On the 3rd of July, we flew to Billings Montana. We rented a car and drove the rest of the vacation. We spent the fourth of July in Cody, Wyoming. Dad really wanted to go to the Museum, so Ricky and I took the opportunity to go white water rafting. (They took Dylan for us!) This picture is outside the museum with our cute matching fourth shirts! Ricky got them as a present for Father's day!
(Do you see the resemblance?)
Dad wanted to get Dylan a cowboy hat, but Dylan wouldn't keep it on! Mom and I decided to get a picture of him just for dad!
After the museum, we traveled to Big Sky Montana, where we spent the rest of our vacation! This is a picture of our resort! It was beautiful! We saw bear prints on the window of our car one morning! That's how close we were to the mountains!
We took one day to explore the area. Someone had informed us about a really pretty waterfall with a nice hike to get there! Since the side of the trail was a ledge to fall about 50 feet, we decided to keep Dylan in the backpack carrier. He was a little hesitant to get in it at first, but he opened up to it soon after!
The view was amazing!
And of course, Dylan had to get naked and throw rocks into the water with Grandma!
The resort told us that Yellowstone was only 18 miles away, but they didn't inform us that you had to drive an hour just to get to an entrance! We didn't let the drive stop us! I had never been there and wanted to see it all! Dylan did great in the car, too!
Here are the bison crossing the road in front of us! It was amazing! We also saw deer, elk, moose, a bear, bald eagles, and I think thats all!
Old Faithful was so pretty! We sat and waited for about 2 hours to see it!
Here is me, Dylan and my dad at one of the springs. They were beautiful!
And I had to throw in another cute picture of Dylan! He is getting so big!
The trip home was an adventure! We woke up at 5am to leave for the airport in Billings, since it was a three hour drive. We got to the airport and checked in for the flight, and just sat and waited. SInce we were flying standby, it was a waiting game. The airport only flew the small jet planes and was about the size of the Purdue Airport! They only had 3 flights out a day, and they were all completely booked! It probably didn't help that there were storms the day before that closed the airport for over 2 hours! We tried to make the best of the situation and went to a hotel for the night. They had a pool, so we had a good time! Dylan was amazing for spending the whole day in the airport! Let's just say that we will never fly standby again!
