House hunting is over!

We bought a house! Yeah!!!! We still have all the technical things to work out, but we signed the contract and have a closing date of March 18th. We are really excited to have our own place and look forward to moving in (after painting of course!). March seems like so far away, but I'm sure it will be here before we know it! I am especially looking forward to having our high speed internet back so I can actually use the computer again! I have a ton of pictures to post, but you'll have to wait. The house is amazing! It is in Lindburg Village and close to everything. There is a pond out back with a walking trail around it. Luckily the yard is fenced in! We are looking forward to hosting parties at our new house!
.
Dylan is doing great. He started mimicing everything that we say, so watch your mouth around him! J/k. He loves to run everywhere. The other day he was running down the driveway and did a nose dive. Poor kid has a road burn down the middle of his face. Boys will be boys! I'm sure it will happen again soon as we will be outside all the time at our new house!
.
Ricky decided against school this semester as he is very busy with work. He got promoted to manager and is looking for an assistant manager to train soon! The house hunting has also been a big stress for us. He will still be finishing sometime this year with school. He is so close to graduation!
.
I have been trying to keep busy. Mostly with driving everywhere to get things done. It's not that great living 20 minutes from town and sharing a car. We are making do, but can't wait to move into our house!
.
We hope everyone is doing great! Keep checking back with us and I will update you on the house and move!

Happy New Year

We're all moved in... for now! We are still house hunting while we are living at my in-laws house. We got all of our stuff moved into storage and we're ready to find a house! Ricky started school again this week. He's only going part time so he can focus on work (and maybe a promotion!). He will still finish sometime this year. Yeah! We have a lot to look forward to this new year! We are still making do with one car, which isn't as easy when you live 20 minutes from town! Hopefully we will be in our house soon, so that we can get another car! That's about all that's going on around here. Dylan is still getting bigger and loves to see Grandma and Grandpa everyday! They love to spoil him, too! Happy New Year to all our friends and family!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! We had a wonderful time celebrating with all of our extended family this year! We actually got to spend time with both sides on Christmas Day! We hope everyone else had a wonderful holiday! Here is the picture of Dylan with Santa that I promised! You can't see his face, but he was really scared. What's up with kids being afraid of someone who brings you presents? So we spent the weekend with my parents' family. We got to spend time with both sets of grandparents (Melissa's) on Saturday. My dad's mom fell last week and had to have stitches above her eye. She is doing better now, but she's really weak. My mom's mom fell and broke her hip last month and is still in recovery from the surgery. Thank goodness for grandpa taking care of her and giving her love. We are keeping them both in our prayers as to have a speedily recovery. Then we spent Sunday celebrating with my aunt and uncle and their families. We are really close since there are only 6 grand kids on that side. Saturday night we all went to a ice hockey game with a mock Beetles concert after. It was lots of fun spending time with my cousins and none of the children! (Thanks to grandparents for watching them!) Sunday was a nice relaxing day spent with family. I love those kinds of days! My camera got left in the car overnight, so I couldn't take any pictures that day. My mom took some that I will be posting soon!
On Christmas Eve, we drove down to my parent's house to spend the night. We had a tradition of going over to my best friends' house and reading the Christmas story with her family. They still do it every year with those who can make it. We sing songs as they fit in with the story which puts us in the Christmas spirit. Then we get to eat lots of yummy food! The above picture is of Dylan going to bed on Christmas Eve. He was so tired, but still happy! What a good boy!
Here is Dylan opening his stocking! He was so excited as he pulled more and more out of it! He got really excited when he got to the candy part, so he got a special treat before breakfast! My parents have a tradition of having the missionaries over for breakfast, so we waited to eat with them! We then opened all of our cool presents. Landon got this really cool train that goes in a circle around the track. Brayden and Dylan were playing on it for a long time! And Landon got to take his turn on Dylan's cool 4-wheeler! You can see him in the background! It's starting to get chaotic with the addition of so many people, but we still love it!
Then around noon, we packed up the car and headed over to Ricky's parents house. We got to open presents with them and then enjoy a wonderful dinner. We got a new game called "Would you rather?" where you have to answer a question of what you would rather do. It was pretty interesting. We then got to play our favorite card game "Canasta." It was lots of fun!
The day after Christmas, I got the flu. Bummer! I hate being sick! Thank goodness Dylan was a good boy while Ricky was working! Now that I'm feeling better, I have to finish packing up our apartment for our move on Tuesday! (It's at 5pm if anyone wants to come help!) We are moving into Ricky's parent's house as we continue our house hunt. Things have been a little slow around here with the holidays, but we're hoping to find a great house soon! We hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season. I'm not sure when I'll be able to post again! See you all soon!

What a busy week!

On Monday, my parents suprised us with tickets to see Trans Siberian Orchestra in concert. It was an early Christmas present that my whole family got to enjoy! It was amazing and something we would love to see again next year!
~
Tuesday, Dylan and I recovered from the day before (he was still getting over his sickness)!
~
Then Thursday was our four year wedding anniversary! We FINALLY got our family picture taken! (Thanks Jaime!) They turned out really cute, but Dylan was being a stinker, so we didn't get any good ones of me and Ricky. We'll have to do it again soon! We had to bribe him with treats to get a few good ones! We went to dinner at a local resaurant called La Scala in downtown Lafayette. It was really good and fun to go to a different restaurant. All of the food was amazing!
~
Today I ran all of the last minute errands with Dylan. He did such a good job for all the in and out stops that I had to do! Thank goodness for cookies! (His favorite!) We then headed over to our church Christmas party. It was lots of fun! Dylan was not excited to see santa! He screamed and wouldn't get close to him! We'll have to work on that for next year! He did blow Santa a kiss as we were leaving! I'll post the picture soon!
~
Here is a preview of our Christmas pictures! Sorry it was so late, but I finally got the cards in the mail today! They turned out really cute! I was waiting for the picture!

We are heading over to Illinois to celebrate Christmas with my extended family this weekend! I'm sure I'll get lots of pictures to share! Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season!

Snow Days

I love snow! It is so pretty outside today! I think we got about 5 inches and the wind is blowing it all over the place! I wish we could go outside and play, but Dylan has a fever. I can't tell if he has something or if it's his 2nd molars coming in. He has been very cuddly, which we love! Church got cancelled today because of the snow, so we are watching movies and just hanging out as a family. It's really nice to spend the time together! We are still looking for a house, so keep us in your prayers! It can be really stressful! Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday!
