We had a wonderful time in South Carolina for our family vacation. I think this was the first family vacation we have taken outside of Chicago. Yeah! It was very hot, but great scenery. We stayed with my best friend Jaime for half of the week and then we ventured to Myrtle Beach for a few days. Thank you to the Brown Family for hosting our crazy family.
We were pretty lazy at Jaime's house. We played TONS of games and the boys had a blast playing together. One of their lazy moments! Sunday, we went to church with the Brown's and then just hung out. It started raining, so Ricky took Ethan out in it. He loved it and made the cutest little faces! It stopped raining by evening, so we set off a few fireworks. The boys loved it, Lauren thought it was too loud, and Ethan was shaking, but still excited.
For the 4th of July, we went downtown Greenville. It was beautiful and had a waterfall right next to us! It was really hot outside, but we managed to have fun anyway! The fireworks show was amazing!
The only family picture we got the whole vacation!
On Wednesday, we headed out to Myrtle Beach. It was a long drive, but totally worth it! Aside from a mix-up on the hotel, we had a great time and ended up right on the beach. Perfect for little ones and nap time! With the mix-up, we got some good shots of the kiddos. Too cute!We finally made it to the beach after dark, but had to go in the water anyway! (This is the only time that Lauren would get in the water. She was scared of the waves and kept saying they were going to get her. Silly girl! I guess we don't get to the beach much here in Indiana!)
We had a great day on Thursday. We played in the sand, we went in the ocean, we took naps, we just had a great day. Dylan loved the water, he takes after his dad! My boys enjoying the waves. Ethan wouldn't stay out of the water. He would just run in and fall over and then crawl out. Then he would repeat many times. We had to constantly hold onto him so he didn't get taken away into the ocean! The beach was so nice and relaxing! I loved every minute of being there! This was the first time at a beach for all three kids. Overall, they had a great time. Lauren liked the sand more than the water. Ethan just loved every minute of being there. I am already looking forward to our next trip to the beach.
